Newton, Ia.  – The Indy Lights Championship Presented by Cooper Tires completed the final of three ovals for the 2015 season this past weekend with Round 12 at Iowa Speedway. Rookie Kyle Kaiser took home a Top-5 for Juncos Racing with a fourth place finish in the Indy Lights Iowa 100 on the 0.895-mile oval.

Kyle Kaiser (Santa Clara, California), driver of the #18 InterVision/NetApp/JuniperNetworks car, qualified seventh for the 100 lap race and went on to pick up his fifth Top-5 finish of the season taking fourth.

“I’m pleased with the valuable experience gained from this weekend,” said Kaiser. “Iowa concluded our season of oval racing, and I can gladly say I feel far more confident and comfortable than I have ever been driving on ovals. Each weekend the team has been on a steep learning curve racing at different ovals, so it’s great to look back and see how much progress we made for the race set up. I’m looking forward to Mid-Ohio in a couple weeks to improve on the momentum built from Iowa.”

Fellow rookie Spencer Pigot (Orlando, Florida) struggled to pace in the #12 MAZDASPEED scholarship car throughout the weekend, however his eighth place finish still keeps in strong contention for the championship. Pigot remains second in the championship, trailing the leader by 18 points.

“It was a fairly difficult weekend for us,” said Pigot, We struggled throughout the weekend, but to come home without any damage and not losing too many points is a good thing. Now we will turn our heads and focus on the rest of the season at Mid-Ohio and Mazda Raceway where I know we will be strong. We hope to get a few more wins and get back in the fight. A big thank you to Juncos Racing, Mazda, Cooper Tire, Mockett, Rising Star Racing, The Stutz, MOBĒ and BAD for all of their support. “

Team Principle, Ricardo Juncos, was pleased with the strong Top-5 finish brought home by Kaiser and is confident the team will be back on the podium during the final four races of the season.

“Kyle (Kaiser) had a great race in Iowa,” said Juncos. “He was one of the only cars that was able to make passes during the race. His ability to cleanly get through the field to finish a strong fourth shows the maturity and confidence he has acquired this year. Spencer (Pigot) managed to bring home a solid finish that leaves us well within the championship hunt with four races to go. We expect to have strong pace at Mid-Ohio, as well as Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.”

The 2015 Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires continues with Round 13 and 14 August 1-2 on the 2.25-mile, 13-Turn road course at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. For more information please visit juncosracing.com and indylights.com.

About Juncos Racing:  Ricardo Juncos, a second generation driver, grew up with a deep passion for racing. Juncos made his first steps in the racing community driving karts throughout Argentina. After funding became difficult, Juncos worked for teams in order to support his own racing career. During this time Juncos took courses in mechanical and electrical engineering to fully understand racing on and off the track. Ricardo Juncos established Juncos Racing in 1997 as a formula team operating in Argentina. Six years later, Juncos Racing moved to Miami, Florida where they became a respected karting team recording multiple local, regional, and national titles. After a successful run in karts, Juncos Racing moved north to Indianapolis, Indiana the “racing capitol of the world,” in 2008 to join INDYCAR’s Mazda Road to Indy series. After only two years in the Star Mazda Championship, the team finished second in the 2010 championship while Conor Daly won the driver championship. Juncos Racing continued their run in the Pro Mazda Championship (the former Star Mazda) taking second in the 2012 and 2013 championships. Most recently 2014 proved to be one of the most successful years for Juncos Racing, winning the driver championship with Spencer Pigot and team championship in both the Cooper Tires Winterfest and Pro Mazda Championship. Juncos Racing expanded operations in 2015 to include two Indy Lights entries along with four Pro Mazda cars.
