Monterey, Calif. - Juncos Hollinger Racing had a tough but very exciting weekend in the Indy Lights Grand Prix of Monterey Presented by Cooper Tires at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca with Sting Ray Robb and Rasmus Lindh.

The team’s drivers showed great speed at the doubleheader event. It was a good opportunity to learn and keep developing the cars for future races, and for both drivers to gain more experience with their cars.

Friday had one practice and qualifying for the first race at the 2.238 miles, 11-turn road course located at WeatherTech Raceway. Lindh with the No. 51 SKF entry finished in the sixth position and Sting Ray 10th with the No.2 Road to Indy scholarship car in Qualifying 1.

Another Qualy and Race 1 went down on Saturday in Laguna Seca and both drivers did a really good job. Sting Ray Robb would show a great pace finishing Qualifying in 7th place and Rasmus in ninth, and then in Race 1 Lindh managed to enter the Top 5 finishing in 5th place and Sting Ray did a really nice job moving from 10th to 6th. They showed they could fight for the top positions but some issues on the track made it difficult for the Juncos Hollinger Racing drivers.

Race 2 took place on Sunday and both drivers maintained a good pace but it was difficult for them to reach the top positions. Sting Ray and Rasmus were confident about having a good race at the 30-Lap event but unfortunately had some issues and an incident at the beginning of the race and Rasmus Lindh finished seventh and Sting Ray Robb 9th.

Rasmus Lindh said: “We made good progress. This weekend we showed good pace in both races to challenge for the top positions. I’m getting more and more used to these tires which are tricky in Qualy. Next time we will be better.”

Sting Ray Rob: “Tough weekend behind the wheel yet again. Once we found the bad damper following Qualifying 1, we were hopeful of gaining enough pace to run at the front. Though we did cut the distance to the front, it wasn’t enough. I’m happy with the results in Race 1 moving from 10th-6th. Looking forward to the final round of racing at Mid-O. Thanks, Juncos Hollinger for all of your hard work and dedication!”

The next stop is at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course from October 1 to 3. We’re ready for it!
