Pompano Beach, Fla. – Scott Hargrove and 8Star Motorsports were among the fastest throughout the two official Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires practice days at Palm Beach International Raceway in Jupiter, Fla., on January 13-14.

The Canadian youngster was at or close to the top of the charts throughout the two test days on-board the #8 Mazda-powered Dallara IL-15 with which 8Star Motorsports was making its debut in Indy Lights. Hargrove improved each and every session and set the fastest time in two of the three free practices.

Hargrove posted a time of 1m06.860s on Tuesday afternoon which put him in first on Day One, improving from a 1m09.253s in the opening session. Practice day two brought significant improvement for the Canadian driver, as he lead the way with a 1m05.504s best time only topped by Kyle Kaiser in the No. 18.

"I feel right at home within the team and it showed on the track today,” said Hargrove. “Every change we've made is in the right direction, improving the car alongside our engineer. Topping the timing sheets is a nice bonus and I'm very confident we can continue the trend as we continue to work on this new Indy Lights car.”

"This was our second test working with the 2014 Pro Mazda Championship runner-up Scott Hargrove, and he continues to impress with his very quality feedback on the car and the Cooper tires," said 8Star Team Manager Gary Neal. "Overall we are very impressed with the new Dallara IL-15 as it is a very well designed car with many options for the driver and the engineer to manipulate and optimize performance. We are confident that we can be a title contender, however the competition is tight and it will only get more intense as the season starts."

"We are incredibly satisfied with the two days of practice as our engineer was able to accomplish his test plan and we were able to collect the data necessary to continue to develop our Dallara IL-15,” added team owner Enzo Potolicchio. “Scott adapted really well to the car and was able to work closely with the team, we were really impressed with his performance.

"8Star is a recognized team in the world of Endurance racing that has many years of Indy Car and Formula 1 experience, and our expectation is to accomplish great results in our first Indy Lights season."
