POMPANO BEACH, Fla.  – Following a podium on season debut on the streets of St. Petersburg, Scott Hargrove is set to return to action for Team Pelfrey-Indy Lights at this weekend’s Phoenix Grand Prix. The 2013 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda title holder returns to the No. 3 GAP Guard Dallara IL-15 with high hopes and expectations as he and teammate Juan Piedrahita look to take on the second event of the season.

“Leading into St. Pete I was already confident we would be able to do more events, then things worked out really well in St. Pete,” said Hargrove. “We were quick out of the box and had a solid weekend, and also made some nice business connections as well. I’m extremely excited about getting back into the No. 3 GAP Guard car, and can’t wait to get on track."

This weekend serves as the Canadian’s first oval race in Indy Lights, as the series returns to the 1.022-mile oval for the first time since 2005. He will also race in the Legacy Indy Lights 100, a doubleheader at Barber Motorsports Park April 22-24. “Phoenix will be interesting given the lack of testing we’ve had there,” said Scott, citing mechanical issues both cars had at the series’ open test on February 25, “but I’m excited for the challenge, and we were quick at the Barber test, so we’ll look to be running up front there as well.”

The Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires field returns to action this weekend at the Phoenix Grand Prix. Friday, April 1 will consist of two 45-minute practice sessions at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. MT, followed by qualifying at 4:30 p.m. Saturday’s 90-lap race will commence at 1:30 p.m. Follow all on-track coverage via social media at @TeamPelfrey_IL.
