Falchero Belardi Announcement 2019

Brownsburg, Ind. – GP3 veteran Julien Falchero joins Belardi Auto Racing for the entirety of the 2019 Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires season, with the French native piloting the No. 4 Dallara.

After spending the past year competing for British team Arden Racing in the GP3 series, 22-year-old Falchero makes the move to the U.S. with his eyes fixed on the 2019 Indy Lights championship.

“I am really proud to be driving for Belardi Auto Racing, everyone on the team has welcomed me wonderfully and the first day of driving the car was great. I felt really comfortable in the car and I can’t wait to get to round one at St. Pete and to fight for the championship.” – Julien Falchero

Falchero recorded nine top 15 finishes in 14 GP3 starts last season, with a best finish of 11th at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. GP3 was not the only series Falchero spent time in, finishing fourth overall in the MRF Challenge Formula 2000 series, running two V d V events in the LMP3 class and two races in the European Le Mans competing in the LMP2 class.

When Belardi Auto Racing team owner Brian Belardi had the opportunity to sign Julien he jumped on it immediately.

“Julien has been extremely quick in off-season testing. At the Spring training test, he proved this again. It was more about getting acclimated to his engineer and the team. He will be an immediate contender for the championship, and we can’t wait for St. Pete to start the season.”

Julien Falchero and his Belardi Auto Racing teammates Zachary Claman Demelo and Lucas Kohl kick off their 2019 Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires campaign this Friday with practice on the Streets of St. Petersburg followed by race No. one on Saturday.
