Carmel, Ind. -- After a strong qualifying effort at the Milwaukee IndyFest, Scott Anderson came within three tenths of the first podium finish of his rookie season in Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires.

On the start Scott shot around 2014 race winner Jack Harvey to take a strong fifth place, and slowly closed on Gabby Chaves and Luiz Razia. Anderson was about to catch them when Razia spun out. The #24 was strong on the restart but didn't have enough to get around Chaves, and the race ended about five laps too soon as Scott was rapidly reeling in Gabby who was slowing on old tires.

"I had a good race-distance car and the team was on it from the start of the weekend. We definitely weren't the fastest today but over the long run, we were handling better then some of the leaders," said Anderson, driver of the #24 Anderson Podiatry Centers Fan Force United car.

Next up is a double header weekend in Sonoma, Calif., on August 23/24.
