Toronto, Ont., Canada - Matt Brabham came home in fourth place during today's Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires race at the Grand Prix of Toronto.

The third-generation driver lined up in the third position on the grid after a strong run in qualifying, and hopes were high as the cars lined up on the grid. Because of the cancellation of the IndyCar race the day before the race was rescheduled for an early 8:30 start.

The track was rapidly drying as the race start approached, which caused panic along pit lane with teams frantically trying to put slicks on before the pace car moved out onto the track. Even though Brabham made a good start he was on the wet side of the track entering Turn One and lost a couple of positions. Once up to speed he passed his teammate to be fourth and hauled himself up onto the third-placed car of Jack Harvey.

Unfortunately, handling issues started to creep in, and after pressuring Harvey for a few laps, Matt started to fade slightly and finished a tough fourth, eight seconds behind the winner.

"It was just a hectic race today with the late tire change," Brabham said. We thought it was going to be a wet race but it ended up being dry. Everyone changed to slicks at the start and it was pretty sketchy out there; I probably should have been a little more aggressive on the first lap. I feel like I had a lot of speed during the first part of the race but during the middle of the race I didn't have enough speed to keep up with the people in front. I'm not overly happy (with fourth place); I'd rather have been at the front. I'm a little disappointed I couldn't finish higher or get on the podium for the United Fiber & Data/MAZDASPEED guys."

Rounds 11 and 12 of the Indy Lights championship will be held on Aug. 2-3 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, once again in support of the Verizon IndyCar Series.
