BROWNSBURG, Ind. – The Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires championship is set to kick of this weekend on the Streets of St. Petersburg. Both Belardi Auto Racing drivers, Aaron Telitz and Santiago Urrutia, will hit the track for the first time Friday at 8:50 A.M.

Belardi Auto Racing is looking to bring the momentum gained from the season finale race at Watkins Glen, where Aaron Telitz was able to score the victory, and start the new season off strong.

“The Belardi guys are really on their game. Picking right up where we left off at Watkins Glen. The car rolled off the trailer fast and we got through all our test items smoothly. We’re all feeling very confident about St. Pete. It’s been a great track for me in the past and I plan on keeping it that way.”

Aaron Telitz is looking to begin the year in similar fashion to last year on the Streets of St. Petersburg by winning again. This time last year Telitz had scored the win in round one, and a fifth place in round two. Telitz is looking to continue the momentum from the first round and see if he can’t move up a few places in the finishing order in the second round.

Santiago is looking to carry the same pace he drove at last year, and bank a few more race wins this coming season. He will be looking to move up one spot on the podium from last year in St. Petersburg and bring home some more hardware.

“I think overall it was a good test, we have been working on a lot of different things for St. Pete. I think we did pretty good and are on the right track. Both Aaron and myself were pretty quick, and I am pretty happy about how the test went.”

This weekend’s schedule for the Mazda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg Presented by Cooper Tires starts off with a forty-five-minute practice session on Friday at 8:50 in the morning, followed by round one of qualifying at 1:40 in the afternoon. Saturday, the Belardi Auto Racing drivers are back on track for qualifying two at 8:30 in the morning, followed up by the 35 lap (or 50 minute) race 1. The final day of on track activity for the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires teams is Sunday, with the 40 lap (or 50 minute) race 2.
