Rookie Robert Megennis sat on pole for his the second time of his Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires career and was running in the top four until contact was made with Toby Sowery. Megennis spun until was hit again by Sowery straightening his car and allowing him to continue in the race. Jarett Andretti ran a clean 40-lap race and gained five spots from his starting position.

  • OF NOTE: Third Indy Lights win of the 2019 season // Led 3 laps in today's race
"This seems so surreal. I have never raced in front of so many people in my life. This is unbelievable. I woke up this morning and I felt that this could be the day. Starting from eighth and I knew I was I had a good car. Massive thanks to everyone at Andretti Autosport, Index Invest, the Stellrecht Company, and Wavelength Images. This is incredible."

      • CHAMPIONSHIP: 5th (128 pts.)
      • OF NOTE: Led most laps of the race with 29 laps // Battled for the lead against Rinus VeeKay and Oliver Askew throughout the entire race // Best-career finish in the Freedom 100
"It really sucks to lose by just that much. The car was on rails, I was able to put it pretty much anywhere on the track. Andretti Autosport gave me a great car. I want to thank EVO and Three Chord Bourbon and everyone who has supported me. We’re just going to carry this momentum into the rest of the season. It was a great race, definitely happy about it, but sad at the same time. To finish 1-2, it was something that we had planned out before the race. Congrats to Oliver (Askew), all Andretti Autosport cars were strong and we will carry this momentum into Road America."

"We had a decent day overall and ended up sixth in my first Indy Lights race. I learned a lot throughout the race. I have to thank Window World, MI Windows, Harding Group and Superior Auto for all the support for my first Freedom 100."

"It wasn't really the race we wanted. We didn't have the car the whole race. We were running up front for a while then started saving my tires. I got turned around by (Toby) Sowery. You can't win them all. We will come back strong at Road America. We will look through all of the data and see what we can improve on."
