Overcast skies turned to thunderstorms for Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires’ Mazda Freedom 100 qualifying today. Two Andretti drivers had the opportunity to set their qualifying time before inclement weather brought a cancellation. The most anticipated track of the year will see the three Andretti drivers lining up from current points positions.

With one of the largest crowds of the schedule, all eyes will be on the yard of bricks waiting to see which driver will cross the finish line first. The green flag for the 40-Lap race will fly over the track at 12:30 p.m. ET tomorrow. The Freedom 100 will be broadcast live on NBCSN from 12:00 p.m. ET to 1:30 p.m. and live timing and scoring will be available on the Road To Indy TV app.

  • Only having competed on one other oval course, tomorrow marks the rookie’s superspeedway debut.
  • Tied for fourth, the rookie will line up in the fifth starting position

“We had a good practice this morning. We worked on some race simulation in traffic and learned a lot about the car. We seem to have a good race pace. Unfortunately going into qualifying, we sat on pit lane ready to go and unfortunately due to an accident just before me followed by severe weather, we were unable to complete the session. We look forward to moving the Stellrecht Mazda up to the top from the fifth starting position."

  • Will hear a familiar voice for the starting command as his mother, Reba McEntire delivers the famous words
  • Marking his second start on the iconic oval, Blackstock will begin from the tenth position

"Today was a bit of a letdown. We didn’t have the car for pole position but we would have been around a fifth or sixth starting position – which is a lot better than where we are starting tomorrow. We now will start off of championship point standings, but we know the Starstruck Car is strong in race trim. This race is sure to put on a great show!”

  • The Canadian will make his first start on the legendary IMS ovaltomorrow
  • Will start 14th for tomorrow’s 40-Lap race

"In the morning we started off with some group running and I’m very confident in our K-Line Insulators USA race car. We managed to get a run in qualifying before the weather came, which would have been competitive, but the session was rained out. We are starting by points for the race so that puts us in 14th. Although it would have been good to see where our qualifying pace put us, I am looking forward to the challenge of working through the pack in the Freedom 100 tomorrow.”
