No. 27 MEXICO #AWORLDOFITSOWN MAZDA

  • STARTING POSITION:1st
  • QUALIFYING SPEED: 161.669 mph

"I’m satisfied with the run. The car felt good, buttomorrowis such a long race. It honestly doesn’t really matter where you qualify because the field is so small. I think the key is going to be to keep the tires underneath you and if you succeed in that and having a pretty quick car and who ever manages to do both the best is going to come out on top.”

No. 98 ANDRETTI-STEINBRENNER RACING / CURB MAZDA

  • STARTING POSITION: 2nd
  • QUALIFYING SPEED: 161.489 mph

“It’s going to be a hot race – it’s going to be tough. I wasn’t super happy with the car [in qualifying] but you don’t really have to start up front for this race and what matters is having a good race car and I think we have exactly that. I am happy with the car we had during practice. At the end of practice we went a little bit away and got a little loose. At the beginning of practice it was really good – I could run in traffic, I could really run anywhere. It’s tough to say who is going to win because Belardi is really good in race trim and Juncos did pretty good last year as well, so it’s really up for grabs to anyone.”

No. 48 JOURNEY MAZDA

  • STARTING POSITION: 3rd
  • QUALIFYING SPEED: 161.165 mph

"The car definitely felt much better during the actual qualifying run than it did this morning with the qualifying run we tried during practice. I feel like on the first lap I played it a little safe, because the car felt like it was a little loose. On the second lap, the car came to me. I feel like if I pushed the first lap more, we would have had a shot at the pole. Today when we were in practice, we worked on the race car the whole time, so I think we are going to have a good car fortomorrow. So we’ll see if we can move up."

No. 28 K-LINE INSULATORS USA MAZDA

  • STARTING POSITION: 4th
  • QUALIFYING SPEED: 160.590mph

"We had a bit of an interesting first practice. We tried to trim out for qualifying then, but that strategy did not seem to work in practice and we had to make some guesses going into qualifying as to what we were going to do for the setup. I think Andretti 1-2-3-4, that’s what we all want to see, but I would have like to have been at the front of that lineup. I think we can make some passes and race with our teammates during the race so looking forward totomorrow."
